Joy through Music, Inc.

Our service is offered to the homeless and disadvantaged members of the community.
We contact and visit soup kitchens, shelters and hospitality homes.
Those with available space and a positive response to our mission are then selected
as potential sites and are served on a first come, first serve basis.

Mission Statement

Joy through Music, Inc., is a charitable community
outreach organization which provides free live music programs to individuals
who are homeless and other persons of limited resources.

Music is therapy and is intended to lift the spirits of both listeners and performers.
It is our goal to help the less fortunate access and enjoy the benefits of live performance.
The Beginning

While holding an impromptu rehearsal in a parking lot, Deb talked to a man who said he
used to play the guitar and had not heard a live band in a long time due to a lack of money.
Some weeks later, another man mentioned that he had not been able to hear live music
again, due to a lack of money.
In concern for the homeless, destitute people, Joy through Music was born.  A group
of interested people came together and provided a free concert to a homeless shelter on
Cleveland's west side.  A board of Trustees was formed and obtained state incorporation.
